Though we haven’t received the numbers for the Philippines, business leaders at the roundtable webinar tell us they’ve also seen a number of resignations this year. Despite the pandemic, all age groups experienced an increase in resignations between August 2019 and August 2020, except for those ages 20-25, who saw a 20.3% decrease. There has been a remarkable resignation rate among women which is compelled by having the challenge to separate their responsibilities to take care of their household and their work at the same time.Īs gathered by a workforce analytics company, Visier from their resignation data Resignations are rising most frequently among mid-career workers. According to an article released by Forbes, resignation rates across industries have noticeably spiked during this pandemic. Numbers of resignations are also rising all over the world. The great loss of community at work has been felt on many levels. We also heard that some prefer to have it at their desk since they’ve been communicating to a lot of people during their work. This allows them to take their minds off work, unwind, and catch up with their colleagues. Most of our webinar attendees claimed that they prefer having it in the pantry. We asked them where they prefer having their coffee breaks, at their desk or at the pantry? The interactive webinar began with a walk down memory lane on how we had coffee breaks before the world shut down. HR experts from various industries shared some practices in taking care of their employees, including their families. We’ve lost the in-person interactions that allow catching up with our colleagues during break times. “Until when am I going to work from home and miss out on having coffee breaks with my buddies?” We can’t help but go back to the good old pre-pandemic days when we’re right beside our officemates and they’re just a tap-on-the-shoulder away if we need something. It’s been a tough and challenging two years, yet we’re still dealing with this global pandemic.
